GEOLOGICAL PROPERTIES

Prehnite is a serene, pale green to yellow-green crystal, often translucent and sometimes exhibiting a pearly lustre.

Prehnite, a silicate mineral, was first discovered in 1788 and was named in honor of Colonel Hendrik Von Prehn, a Dutch military officer and mineral collector who brought the first specimens from the Cape of Good Hope in South Africa.

Today, prehnite is found in many locations around the world, including Australia, Canada, China, France, Germany, Mexico, Namibia, South Africa, the United Kingdom and the United States.
