GEOLOGICAL PROPERTIES

Lepidolite and Tourmaline are companions in both geology and energy, often forming together within the same mineral matrix. Lepidolite is a lilac to pink-violet mica and a lithium-rich potassium aluminium silicate belonging to the monoclinic crystal system. With her soft, layered texture and pearly sheen she has a soothing presence, symbolising balance and calm. Found in the USA, Brazil, Madagascar and the Czech Republic, she occurs in granite pegmatites where she often embraces strands of Tourmaline.

Tourmaline, by contrast, is a complex borosilicate mineral that crystallises in the trigonal system. Her elongated prismatic crystals can display a wide range of colours depending on the trace elements present, from black and green to pink and blue. She has a hardness of 7 to 7.5 on the Mohs scale and is found in Brazil, Africa, Sri Lanka and the USA. Both minerals are associated with transformation and energetic balance: Lepidolite offering calm reflection, and Tourmaline grounding and directing that energy with focus and strength.
