Apophyllite is a crystal admired for her sparkling clarity and delicate beauty. She usually forms as clear or softly tinted pyramids that shimmer with a glassy or pearly glow. Although not as hard as many other crystals, she is treasured for the way she reflects light and seems to capture a sense of brightness within her. Apophyllite is often found growing with other crystals such as stilbite in the cavities of ancient volcanic rocks. Beautiful specimens come from India, Brazil, Greenland and Iceland where she appears in clusters that look almost like frozen light.
