Libyan Gold Tektite is a rare form of natural glass forged by cosmic collision, a terrestrial rock melted and flung through space, then cooled into glass, so she bears a mysterious lineage between earth and sky. Like other tektites, she is silica-rich, very low in water content, and lacks crystalline structure. Her colour ranges from warm gold through honey to amber, often translucent at thinner edges. She is found in desert regions of Libya, and is linked with the broader class of tektites formed during ancient meteorite impacts. Because she is glassy and non-crystalline, she is more fragile than many crystalline stones and must be handled with care.
