This crystal forms in sedimentary environments, where layers of calcium-rich solutions slowly crystallise, often with the addition of manganese, which gives her the signature pink hue. Pink mangano calcite is primarily found in Peru and parts of the United States. She has a smooth, pearly appearance and is often translucent with a soft glow. Vibrantly reactive under UV light.
